The 5 Senses – Smell

This week Tiny Artists looked at the sense of smell in creating their artworks.  First we created ‘smelly prints’.  We did this by first smelling a range herbs and vegetables and fruit such as rosemary, chives, onions, lemons and then we dipped them in different colours of paint and stamped them on paper to create a very colourful artwork.  This was lots of fun!

For our second artwork Tiny Artists created a Mother’s Day bouquet of flowers.  First we rubbed and smudged chalk pastels to create a background for our flowers.  Then Tiny Artists made their flower arrangement by gluing stems, leaves and they created the flowers by layering patty pans, paper doilies, tissue papers and a ribbon.  We finished by spraying perfume over the flowers.  Happy Mother’s Day!
